Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico

The administrator has expected BP (British Petroleum) set up a escrow account to make sure the losses made by the oil spill to the business owners and individuals are compensated.

BP's board had a meeting on Monday to discuss what to do with its 10.5 billion annual dividend. They discussed several solutions, but did not make a final decision. Mr. Obama said that BP shouldn't be paying out their profits to the stockholders when huge cleanup costs is still coming and when many small-business owners and individuals are saying they are having trouble getting compensation from BP.

BP shares have fallen 45 percent in London since the oil spill, and 47 percent in New Yoke Market.

BP said that it was putting a plan in place to siphon off more than 40,000 barrels of oil a day by the end of this month. They only collect 15,000 barrels now.
